SMS Consent & Opt-In

How We Collect Consent

CheerVue collects explicit opt-in consent for SMS during account registration. Providing a phone number is completely optional and is not required to create an account or use CheerVue. When users choose to provide their phone number, they may check an optional consent checkbox to agree to receive text messages. Users who do not opt in will not receive any SMS messages.

The opt-in checkbox displays the following message:

“I agree to receive text messages from CheerVue about account updates and important notifications. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by texting STOP.”

Where Consent Is Collected

The SMS opt-in checkbox appears in two registration flows, directly below the phone number field:

1. Parent Registration (Step 2: Contact Information)

Parents create a CheerVue account and provide their phone number along with the SMS consent checkbox.

2. Athlete Registration (Step 2: Contact Information)

Independent athletes (18+) create their own account and provide their phone number along with the SMS consent checkbox.

What You Consent To

By checking the opt-in checkbox, you agree to receive text messages from CheerVue for:

• Account verification (OTP): One-time codes to sign in securely
• Account updates: Important notifications about your account
• Billing notifications: Payment due reminders and account updates
• Payment links: Secure links to pay your bill

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on account activity.

How to Opt Out

You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by:

• Replying STOP to any text message from CheerVue
• Updating your notification preferences in your account settings
• Contacting us at privacy@cheervue.com

After opting out, you will receive a confirmation message and no further SMS will be sent. You can opt back in at any time by updating your preferences in your account settings.
